Rafting on Rio Pescado

The small town of Jalcomulco is located around 30km from Jalapa-Veracruz, more or less. Due to its geographical location in jungles of Veracruz, this river is a favorite for rafting throughout the year and there are sections suitable for all ages.

In Veracruz, there are multiple companies that offer rafting trips along the Rio Pescado all year long. There are options which let you raft 11 miles in a day, to longer tours of 4-6 days. Some companies have built "eco villages" on the bank of the Rio Pescado which not only offer rafting, but also ziplines, climbing, hiking...some even have pools and sweat lodges.

The local cabins are sufficient for most tourists and the villages in the area are charming and lots of interesting people go there to camp. These companies have extensive experience and the guides are certified for your security. Prices range between $800.00 and $5,000.00 depending on the service you choose.
