A lonely airport
We spent a long stopover of several hours at this airport, and we really noticed how lonely it was. Having made a stop in Sao Paulo, where the airport was crowded, we found ourselves quite alone here, and we could even take a nap! The airport is located on the Ilha do Governador (Governor's Island), in the north of the city of Rio de Janeiro, about 20 km north of the city center. The Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, known as Galeao, is the main international airport in the city of Rio de Janeiro. named in honor of Brazilian musician Antonio Carlos Jobim. It has several businesses of the usual type, but be aware that the cafe downstairs doesn't accept credit cards, so we could only spend the $10 we were carrying on drinks.
