We stayed here overnight on a weekend hike from Tires to Roda di Vael.
The rifugio is around 3hrs from Tires following an easy track beside the river until a final steep climb. Beware of horses as they are highly skilled picnic raiders.
The position is spectacular, nestled amongst the vertical rock walls of dolomite rock. You cannot resist it's charm with an old fashioned dining room, cosy bed rooms with four single beds and hammocks for meditation. The lunch menu has all the tasty Sud-Tirol classics but evening set menu is a bit hit and miss. For overnight stays booking is necessary and you should bring a sheet sleeping bag.
