Sueca como otros pueblos del litoral valenciano tiene unas condiciones perfectas para el cultivo del arroz por los marjales y zonas húmedas. La denominación de origen protege las tres variedades de cultivo que se realiza en esta zona: El bomba, senia y bahía. Este cultivo que introdujeron los musulmanes en el año 711 y ocupa un año completo. De aquí hasta Mayo con el calentamiento del agua las semillas germinan y crece hasta alcanzar unos 30 cm y ya están listas para arrancarlas y replantarlos en otros campos que también han estado inundados parte del invierno lo que ha favorecido la descomposición de restos orgánicos y la visita de cantidad de aves migratorias. En septiembre comienza la siega y después la trilla donde se separa el grano de la espiga y de aquí al secado y almacenaje. Tras esto solo falta moler el grano para separar la cáscara dejándolo de un color pardo (arroz integral) y pulirlo quitándole una primera capa para conseguir el arroz que consumimos. Mucho trabajo que no está pagado.
