Un posto insolito fuori dagli schemi e dai percorsi turistici è il balcone al "rovescio" in Borgo Ognissanti a Firenze. La storia narra che un regolamento edilizio di allora parliamo del secolo XVI vietava la sua costruzione poiché sporgente, per cui veniva sempre respinto dal regolamento edilizio comunale. Una seconda volta il proprietario ci riprovo' ripresentando un nuovo progetto ma simile al precedente ma fu nuovamente bocciato. La terza volta, invece il Duca di allora Alessandro De' Medici che faceva parte della commissione edilizia ironicamente approva il progetto scrivendo il balcone può essere costruito ma al "rovescio"
Il costruttore rispose così alla lettera, montando gli elementi classici del balcone al contrario. Infatti risultano rovesciati i mensoloni di sostegno e le relative volute, così come le colonnine della balaustra. Assolutamente da visitare.
