A slice of Spain in New York
La Nacional Tapas Bar is a cozy Spanish restaurant in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. It's a popular hangout for all the Spanish expats living in NY. I have Spanish friends living there and they told me it has been fixed up a bit recently, and that it used to be a true slice of the old country, with old men in berets playing dominoes and everything.
The tapas are pretty good. They have a couple types of paella and fideua. Of course, they also have Jamon Serrano, Spanish cheese, and a mix of grilled sausages.
