Easter Island replica
The original Moai sculptures can be found here on Easter Island, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, between Chile and Tahiti. Originally called Rapaniu, the name Easter Island as we know it today comes from the Dutchman Jacob Roggeveen discovered it on Easter day, 1722. The 7 statues called Ahu Akivi is the most famous attraction on the island, they look to the sea just in the direction where the sun sets on an equinox. As Japan helped with its restoration, it was granted permission to make their own replicas. If you're in Miyazaki, and have no time to go to Easter Island, this is a good second choice.
