Regional Archaeological Museum

This museum is located in a former Dominican convent, dating back to the mid XVI century and later renovated in the XVII and XVIII centuries, when it was even a jail. Here, you can enjoy watching a historical archaeological dig, with explanations about the way of life of the people of the time and see some authentic Roman tiles and pottery. Entrance is free and there is also a gift shop.

Good visit

Excellent

Visited here in the pre-pandemic days...pretty good experience. Friendly and encouraging staff, and a low-key ambience, but houses an important and expansive collection. Spacious and attractive interiors. Not knowing Spanish is a bit of a handicap, but it wasn’t too hard to figure out some basic details about the exhibits. Nice little gift shop with a friendly store owner, and some unique gifts to bring back home. Overall, it’s worth anyone’s time.
