Red Skycrape

Fu costruito nel 1926-1928 e il nome di "grattacielo rosso" deriva non tanto dall'altezza quanto dallo stile architettonico. In mattoni a vista con inserti di pietra, è stato ideato dall'architetto Arduino Berlam che si ispirò alle metropoli americane dell'epoca. Si trova sulle rive, alla confluenza fra il Canal grande e il lungomare della città, poco prima di palazzo Carciotti e contribuisce allo spettacolo di forme e colori di questo viale triestino. A fianco c'è palazzo Gopcevich, con la sua facciata preziosa. Oggi è sede degli uffici delle assicurazioni Generali.

It was built in 1926-1928 and the name "red skyscraper" is derived not so much the height as architectural style. In brick with stone inserts, was designed by architect Arduino Berlam that was inspired by the great American metropolis. It is located on the banks, at the confluence of the Grand Canal and the city's waterfront, just before Carciotti building and contributes to the spectacle of shapes and colors of this avenue of Trieste. Next door is Gopcevich palace, with its facade valuable. Today it houses the offices of the Assicurazioni Generali.
