Railway Bridge Rotary

Este Puente Giratorio sobre el Canal Lateral Oeste del puerto La Plata del partido de Ensenada, fue inaugurado a fines de 1913; aunque su estructura desensamblada ya estaba lista para ser enviada desde Inglaterra en 1911 y debido a una violenta huelga de trabajadores portuarios en Londres, se demoró su entrega y llegó incompleto. La idea era permitir el acceso ferroviario desde Ensenada y conectarlo con el sector portuario, para lo cual se alargó el ramal existente medio kilómetro más hasta alcanzar el puente. De esta forma se evitaban exagerados gastos de peaje por el uso de rieles ajenos. Cumplió su cometido durante mucho tiempo y aunque hoy es una reliquia herrumbrada, hay planes de volverlo a la vida recuperando su estructura y su entorno para convertirlo en un paseo con iluminación, juegos infantiles, canchas deportivas y mobiliario urbano; e inclusive hay un proyecto de ley para declararlo Bien de Interés Histórico incorporándolo al Patrimonio Cultural de la Provincia. The Swing Bridge over the Canal West Side party La Plata port of Ensenada, was opened in late 1913, although its structure was disassembled and ready to be shipped from England in 1911 and due to a violent dockworkers strike in London, delivery was delayed and arrived incomplete. The idea was to allow rail access from Ensenada and connect it to the port sector, for which the existing branch lasted half a kilometer to reach the bridge. In this way exaggerated avoiding toll charges for use of outside rails. Did the job for a long time and even today is a rusty relic, there are plans to back to life recovering structure and environment to make it a ride with lighting, playgrounds, sports fields and street furniture, and there are even a draft law to declare a Property of Cultural Heritage Historical incorporating the Province.
