1 review of George's Dock Ventilation and Control Station

A trip back in time

The outside of this flawless art deco building will really bring you back to the 1920s! Inside endless hidden ducts lead to offices and ventilation shafts that support the tunnel from Liverpool to Birkenhead, on the peninsula of the Wirral. The building was opened by the architect Herbert J Rowse, ve also designed the two mouths of the tunnel, which was opened in 1934, after nearly 10 years of construction.
