Quartiere di Brsalje

Sarebbe sbagliato pensare che la bellezza di Dubrovnik si trovi soltanto all'interno delle famose mura che circondano il centro storico, spesso invaso dai turisti. Appena fuori Porta Pile, nella parte occidentale della città, vale la pena fare una breve passeggiata nel quartiere di Brsalje. Vi si accede da un vicolo uscendo dalla porta a sinistra, subito dopo la piazza con la vista sulle mura. Percorrendo il vicolo si giunge in un piccolo e tranquillo borgo di pescatori che ha in gran parte mantenuto l’antico impianto urbanistico con le viuzze strette che arrivano fino al mare. Percorrendo le strade di ciottoli si arriva fino a una pittoresca insenatura da cui si può godere un’inedita vista sulle mura da una parte e verso la fortezza di Lovrijenac dall'altra. Qui parte anche la scalinata di pietra per raggiungere la fortezza.

It would be wrong to think that the beauty of Dubrovnik lies only within the famous walls that surround the old town, often overrun with tourists. Just outside Pile Gate in the west of the city, it is worth taking a short walk in the neighborhood of Brsalje. It is accessed by an alley out of the door on the left, after the square with a view of the walls. Follow the lane you reach a small, quiet fishing village that has largely kept lantico urban layout with narrow streets that reach the sea. Walking through the cobblestone streets until you get to a picturesque cove where you can enjoy uninedita overlooking the walls on one side and towards the fortress of Lovrijenac other. Here also the stone stairway to reach the fortress.
