In historic Giza
The Pyramid View Hotel is in historic Giza near the secondary entrance to the pyramids and the Sphinx. Beware that there is another much more luxurious hotel with the same name. The hotel is a five minute walk from the pyramids, but it's also in a very run down neighborhood which contrasts sharply with the beauty of the Pyramids. There's nothing on the street at night after 10pm, whereas if you stay in Cairo proper, the nightlife is a lot more exciting. The rooms are basic and cost $10 per person per night. There's a Pizza Hut next door which a great terrace for viewing the Pyramids.
