Punta Gorda
Not yet discovered or, at least, only discovered only by a lucky few, Punta Gorda is formed by spectacular rock canyons and sand on the river Uruguay, right at the start of the River Plate. The place is magical. It has an old hotel, several weekend cottages, scattered pine forest and a lagoon dream, ideal for swimming. The village remained the same for years, although the present owners of fields and farms around Carmelo have realized this paradise and have started to build some amazing houses on the river. Of the houses overlooking the river pass every morning horse-drawn buggies, and in the town, just where fishermen moor their boats, there is a unique old warehouse.
