Punkaharju
Punkaharju is a province in the east of Finland, in the South Savo region. Over a third of the province is covered by lakes. It has an isthmus, which is a natural reserve of about 7 kilometers in length, separating the Puruvesi and Pihlajavesi lakes which belong to the network of the Saimaa lake, the largest lake in Finland. Neaby, Retretti Art Center has about 2000 square meters of conventional rooms and a 3000 square meters of underground exhibition halls, that are not only worth visiting for their works of art but also for their underground caverns. You can also find the museum world's largest forest, Lusto, which we will discuss later.
You can visit a rather large preserved trench that was created for protection at the end of the Winter War. This area is known as the fortification line, measuring 1200 kilometers long.
