Situada en el corazón de Rocamadour justo al lado del ayuntamiento y en el medio de la calle principal que la recorre. Puerta de corte medieval con torre de defensa, conocida como Empara, una de los once que protegían a la ciudad en momentos de invasiones. Estamos en la zona más saturada de turistas, ya que junto a esta puerta se encuentran una infinidad de tiendas, la oficina de turismo y alguno de los hoteles más importantes. Pero eso no le resta belleza, ya que la puerta de Salmon es de las más bonitas con sus ventanas de maderas repletas de flores, su tejado puntiaguda que recuerda un castillo y la preciosas escalera de caracol que es visible y visitable bajo petición.
