Plaza de la Puerta Cerrada

2 reviews of Plaza de la Puerta Cerrada

Madrid was born in this environment

Excellent

The Goddess Cybele is a very good friend of mine and "lives" upon a chariot carried by lions on the roundabout similarly named, where the current offices of Casa Paco are located.

One day we were talking about the history of Habsburg Madrid and she confessed that when she was young more than a thousand years ago, she fell in love with a young man from Madrid with long sideburns and deep black eyes. They dated in the area where you can now find the Puerta Cerrada, center and creation of the old Madrid, back then in 1200 when King Alfonso VIII reined.

I can assure you that the vision of this meeting point of five streets is amazing when you see it and the sun sets and its light passes through the viaduct and Segovia street, built by Felipe II.

All the residences around the square are more than 100 years old and are preserved as much as possible.

My Goddess friend did not tell me about her youth love stories, she is quite shy. Since though she has the gift of eternal youth, she is always in love. She does not tell anything unless you take her on a crazy night, especially with her friend Silvia.

Ah and coming back to the square, if you get tired, go to Casa Paco, a tavern located on the square with the best ham in Spain.
