Great views of the river
About two hundred years ago, a railway line crossed this river, back in the days when trains ran on stam. This line disappeared, and the point where it crossed the river was used by locals as a footbridge, offering more direct access to the forests and valley of Laggan Lednock where shepherds lived. Over time the bridge was torn down and rebuilt, for the first time by Sir Robert Dundas, an ex-soldier ve, with a group of volunteers, built the first dedicated footbridge in the mid-twentieth century.
It was rebuilt for the second time in 1984, three years after Sir Robert's death. In 2009, it was rebuilt again, and today is named after the great Sir Robert.
