Apparently a modern pedestrian bridge that connects Cambuskenneth (where the abbey once stood) to the riverside, near the center of Stirling Forth. It crosses the river at a shallow point. This is what a local youth told me, but I later reflected that the young don't know much about their own history ... a bridge has stood on this site since the thirteenth century, when a Scottish king issued an edict to have it built. Stirling was a major port at the time, and this allowed the transport of goods like salmon. The bridge ends at the castle, near where a market once stood. There are lovely views
