Craft Beer bar in Vallehermoso Market
Prost Chamberi is a small, laid back craft beer bar in the Vallehermoso Market in Madrid's traditional neighborhood of Chamberi. It's location in a historic neighborhood (read: un-touristy) marketplace has made it a meeting place for local hop-heads to enjoy a cold pint and down-to-earth conversation without any of the trendy pretense found in a growing number of Madrid's craft beer watering holes. No, it's clear from the start that Prost Chamberi is a labor of love, the effort of one man, his passion for beer, and an incredibly small market stall.
Prost Chamberi usually has a rotating line-up of craft and international beers on tap (a German wheat beer, a stout, and a tasty Pale Ale when I visited) and a fridge stocked with dozens of bottles from Spanish and international craft breweries. There's also a small shop where you can buy bottles to take home with you; it's not the biggest selection in town, but it's a good mix of big-name staples with some local up-starts thrown in for good measure.
