Pritaneo
The Prytaneum, located next to the Odeon, was the religious and administrative center of Ephesus. The Pritane was what today would be called the mayor, and was elected from members of the city's richest. It was built in the third century BC and was restored in the third century AC. Outside the Prytaneum are eight columns. It is unfortunate that some of the original columns have been replaced by ugly concrete blocks.
