Prehistoric Museum
This is Berlin's Museum of Prehistory and Early History. It is situated in the gardens of Charlottenburg, near the castle of the same name. The theater building was built for the kings by Carl Ferdinand Langhans. There are six exhibition rooms on three floors. A large library with more than 50000 books specializing in archeology can be found next to the museum. The museum dates back to the nineteenth century when it formed part of the Museum of Antiquities. After World War II some of the exhibits were taken to Russia. The Charlottenburg Museum was initially situated in the west of the city but was relocated to the east after reunification.
