Praza Vella - Old Square

La Praza Vella (o Plaza Vieja) se encuentra en el barrio más antiguo de la ciudad: [poi=66821]Ferrol Vello[/poi] (viejo), justamente enfrente de la [poi=66813]Puerta del Parque[/poi] (que da acceso al [poi=66811]Arsenal Militar[/poi]), la [poi=66863]Fuente de la Fama[/poi] y de los restos de la antigua [poi=66814]Muralla y Foso[/poi]. Es una plaza bastante amplia, con varios bancos para sentarse y está rodeada de castaños de Indias. En ella se celebra el tercer domingo de cada mes una feria tradicional, cuyos orígenes datan del siglo XVI. En esta plaza se encontraba la Puerta de O Cristo, única puerta de la muralla derruida en 1826.

The Praza Vella (or Plaza Vieja) is the oldest district of the city: Ferrol Vello (old) just opposite the Puerta del Parque (which gives access to the Military Arsenal), the Fountain of Fame and the remains of the Wall and Moat. It is a fairly wide plaza, with several benches and is surrounded by Buckeyes. It is held the third Sunday of each month a traditional fair, whose origins date back to the sixteenth century. In this square Gate O Christ, the only gate of the wall was demolished in 1826.
