Praia das Palmas

Palmas Beach is very popular with campers, or for those hiking around the area of Abrao and Lopes Mendes. There are several campsites and restaurants along the maritime promenade. During high season, they have live music. Other attractions are a small church, San Benito (the first on the island), and a lake. If you don't like walking, there are boats to Abrao and Pouso, and then a path that can take you to Santo Antonio and Lopes Mendes.
