10 reviews of Prague Metro

Variable prices and plans

The Prague Metro has 3 lines (green, yellow and red) that cross the city on both sides of the River Vltava. It has 57 stations, in a network of about 58km. It has links to the intercity, and long-distance bus lines, and the network of trams and cable cars. There are several types of fees to choose from when you buy your ticket, depending on the length of your trip and the number of stations you plan to go to. The 26Kc basic fee (just over 1 euro) allows you to travel for 90 minutes, regardless of the number of stations traveled, and even take the bus and tram. There's also the reduced-rate ticket, 18Kc, which allows you to travel for 20-30 minutes.

There are also tickets for several days, although unless the weather is bad, the city is easily explored on foot. There is a real lack of supervision, with no machines to check if you're using a ticket, but if a ticket inspector finds you breaking the rules, you'll be fined 900kc (about 40 euros).
