Postigo do Carvao has taken the name of the only door that remains in the Fernandina wall, surrounding the city. From here to the loading docks of the Ribeira, runs the Rua da Fonte, which is the street where the restaurant is located. When we went in there we found it quiet, with the dining room almost empty. But the staff were friendly and welcoming, smiling as they offered us a table. We followed their suggestions for pork sausages, and a beautifully rosy ribeye of beef accompanied by vegetables and potatoes. Total for three courses and drinks: € 35.70.
