Porto is a charming town

If I had to choose only one of the marvelous corners on the island of Corsica I would not hesitate for a moment: Porto. Porto is a charming town in a more than privileged setting, as it is next to the Calanques, which are a World Heritage Site. This small town is divided in two by a beautiful river that flows into the sea. There are two ways to access it, either by the main road, or crossing a charming little pedestrian bridge that is right next to the beach. The wonderful thing about this town is its surroundings. Look and you'll find colossal landscapes that seem to be taken from a story. On one side is the sea, which seems to struggle tirelessly at all times with rocks on the shores of Porto.

On the other hand, there are beautiful mountains that have strange shapes and impressive red and ocher colors. In addition, the river banks that run through the village are super-groomed and endless forests have been created where you can take wonderful walks. In summer Porto is always full of people and that's why there are hardly any homes, almost all the town buildings are restaurants/hotels awaiting tourists. There are all kinds of restaurants, some have luxury menus affordable to all budgets and some are cheaper offering mainly pizzas. The best thing about these establishments is that they all have a fantastic terraces from which you can enjoy the breathtaking view. I do not usually like anything that is almost exclusively dedicated to tourism, but I must admit I fully succumbed to the wonders of Porto. By the way, this small town is also perfect for those who want to dive, and offer all kinds of courses. There are two diving schools operating from about March and are situated on the bank of the river, near the beach.
