Napoleon's Birthplace

Ajaccio is known as Napoleon's birthplace and as the city he made a capital. It's a place that offers numerous attractions like its charming old port. It's a mix of pleasure boats and fishing boats, whose bright colors help to cheer up the landscape. The small port, called "Tino Rossi" is located between the city and the mountains and is quite nice. It's full in the day and is a hive of activity late in the afternoon when the light changes every minute in front of the mountains. I spent a few minutes contemplating life in the harbor at that calm hour. The comings and goings of the boats and sailing vessels, of the sailors ve clean and take care of their boats, families out for a walk, etc.

Everything mixes perfectly and an air of peace sets over the place.

Port by the marina with a distinctive charm

Ajaccio is the main city of Corsica and is apparent, as it is the only large Corsican town with a big population. The port of the city is also one of the most important of the island and every day there are hundreds of tourists and commercial boats. Corsica Ajaccio is selected as a starting point, as it is one of the points that has the most ferries schedules. In this city are the offices of the main ferry companies such as Corsica or SCMN. Ferries arrive at the contemporary part of the port. This is the biggest area of the same and one can always can see big ships. But the part of the port that has more charm is the former, where there is the marina, which is situated near the city center.

This is a reduced size area full of small boats of all kinds. It is somewhat old and a little run down which gives it a distinctive charm, because it seems that you are in a small town instead of in one of the major cities of Corsica. In this area there is enough ambient siemper not only tourists stroll, this is very common to see many Corsicans spend the day quietly while engaged in small boats or clean blemish some screenshots they have done. There are several places to eat and drink. They are not very tourist establishments, quite the contrary, it is typical and old bars where there is a wonderful atmosphere. At the end of this small port has created a kind of very beautiful stone breakwater by which you can stroll while enjoying the amazing views of the sea. The marina is quieter and more traditional and has nothing to do with the great atmosphere and commotion there for the rest of downtown.
