A curious city to discover
Before Europeans arrived in Australia, this area of South Australia was covered with mangroves and swamps. The foundation of this settlement, just 14km from Adelaide, dates back to 1837. Nowadays, a visit to Port Adelaide brings with it the chance to see dolphins and museums, as well as admire well-conserved historical buildings like hotels, bars, and clubs. The climate is similar to Adelaide, tempered by the sea, with the seasons reversed compared to the northern hemisphere.
