Interpretation Centre
The Parque Natural do Alvão has 2 Interpretation Centers, one in Vila Real, and another in Mondim de Basto. The Vila Real center is just behind City Hall, near the Museum of the Old Village and São Dinis Cemetery. It's formed by two adjoining buildings, in which, besides collecting information about the park (map, access, hiking trails, etc.), there's an exhibition about the flora and fauna as well as a specialized library and a small auditorium. This centre also organizes environmental activities for groups and schools.
