An abbey with life, like entering a time machine
Pluscarden Abbey was founded by King Alexander II of Scotland in the year 1230. In conjunction with 2 other abbeys, Beauly Ardchattan Ross and Argyll, all by Valiscaulianos or Carthusian monks, it was later converted into Benedictines, As was common to monastic life came with Religious Reformation. It was built in the 16th century Scotland ... but then why is it in such great condition? An incredible story ... the mid-40s a group of more than 20 monks took over, reconstructing the abbey as it was in its initial state and since then have lived there, taking care of its orchards and ultimately, doing the same work as medieval monks, and they also have a website, online store and do community work.
