Plaza de la Independencia

This plaza is one of the three ancient squares of the city of Zacatecas, along with the square and garden Auza Miguel Juarez, Maize old square. In the center of this beautiful square stands a winged figure, National Independence Monument. It was originally called Plaza San Juan de Dios, and it is currently called Villarreal Square May 15. On one side of the plaza you can see the impressive building of the House of Culture (Ex alhondiga)
