Plaza 23

The bar Plaza 23 is in Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, on the opposite side of the large clock. It is a fairly modern restaurant and bar, with an open front to the plaza, which is one of the most beautiful places in the city, so you can enjoy the vibrant city centre while you drink.

The bar is decorated with contemporary designer objects, mixed with rococo details like large chandeliers. It is ideal for having a drink and taking advantage of the location, but if you want to eat it is a tad expensive. There is an extensive wine list with over 100 different bottles, and the restaurant serves on the first floor, one of the historic buildings around the square.

I'm from Madrid. On the weekend I dined at Plaza 23. It had been recommended to me. I ate like hadn’t in a long while. Superb quality, the wine list, exquisite, the best service possible. I ate tuna that I had never eaten even in the South, a boneless shoulder that was great. I give it a 10 for the site, the food, the locale and for the service. I will recommend it wherever I go
