La Salve

For me, this is one of the best beaches in Cantabria and one that I've recommended to just about everyone I know. Also, at 5 kilometers it’s one of the longest beaches in Northern Spain. It has also received Europe’s coveted Blue Flag for many years now, a sure sign that it’s among the nicest beaches in the country.

My least favorite part is the strong currents in the water, but the sand is powdery and golden and you have plenty of space to relax away from the crowds.

Playing ball, a volleyball match or simply lying down and relaxing. With a little luck you will get a good day and you can bathe with the Watchtower and the Laredo port on one side and the Buciero of Santoña on the other. Furthermore, it´s enormous, so there will always be space, whether it´s eight o'clock or noon. And, if it's windy, take refuge in the dunes or back on the pier.
