This is the best beach in all of Santander. It has a young vibe and lots of waves. I’d recommend it 100%.
The water is always clean and it’s a perfect place if you’re interested in surfing. Be careful, though, as the waves and current can be quite strong.

This is a very nice beach on the coast of Cantabria. The waves are always big, so it's always full of surfers.
On clear winter days, you can see the snowy Picos de Europa off in the distance. It's a good time to go because being everything is a lot calmer in the off-season.
There are also a lot of great places to eat and you're surrounded by interesting places to visit: Santillana del Mar, Comillas, Santander, etc…
Playa de Los Locos is the most beautiful beach in Santander. Despite measuring just 500 meters and being sandwiched between large cliffs in a fairly urbanized area, the beach gives you the impression that you're miles from civilization.
The beach is generally sandy but it also has some parts with stones. It’s also very open so there are a lot of big waves. In summer, it's one of the best beaches for watching the sunset.
All in all, it has all the amenities of a city beach but a beauty that few beaches can match. I'd really recommended a visit.
Playa de los Locos is a popular beach among young people and surfers; it’s a beach that’s as beautiful as it is notorious for its strong undercurrents and fierce tides. There is fine golden sand during the low tide but the high tide pretty much swallows the entire beach so you need to enjoy its legendary beauty from atop the cliffs.
To get down to the beach you need to climb a pretty long set of stairs but if you explore the cliff tops you’ll be rewarded with some absolutely spectacular views. The spectacle of the crashing waves is an amazing experience for both the eyes and the ears.
