Conveniently located
Pillnitz Castle is conveniently located on the Elbe, reached by a relaxing sail from Dresden city centre. This was once the location of the luxury residence of the princes of Saxony, in a structure consisting of three different buildings, surrounded by a beautiful garden reminiscent of the garden of Versailles. The first thing you can see from the river is the Water Palace, reached by a staircase directly from the river. Walking through the beautiful gardens of the palace, you can reach the Bergpalais, the Palace of the Mountains. This Asian-style palace has Chinese decoration and pagoda roofs.
