Piedrafita Port

Piedrafita la Mediana es uno de los pueblos mas desconocidos del ayuntamiento de Carmenes . Aquí termina la carretera y parece que con ella termina el resto del mundo . Al final del tranquilo pueblo , esta el puerto , en plena Cordillera Cantabrica . A pesar de ser un punto de frontera entre León y Asturias , este es el único puerto que se le considera exclusivamente leones , ya que solo se tiene acceso a el por la vertiente leonesa . La dificultad del terreno , la existencia de otros puntos fronterizos ya construidos y la posible falta de interés por parte del Principado , han hecho que no sea un puerto de ida y vuelta . Por Piedrafita la carretera termina en el mismo punto en el que empieza el puerto , pero el camino , arreglado , continua algún kilómetro mas , hasta llegar a un punto en el que es imposible acceder a el con ningún tipo de vehículo de cuatro ruedas .En una ocasión , continuamos el estrechisimo sendero con la moto y había tramos en los que pasaba justa la rueda . Pero , la verdad , es que mereció la pena , porque el paisaje es impresionante , el hombre no ha llegado a el y eso se deja notar .
