70 reviews of Piazza Venezia

Surrounded by beautiful buildings

Once in Rome you will pass by the Piazza Venezia a thousand times, situated in the Neuralgia center of the Eternal City. Many main roads start here, such as Via del Corso, Via dei Fori Imperiali, Via del Plebiscito, etc. Piazza Venezia is surrounded by three streets, the magnificent Vittorio Emanuele II monument, the Palace, images of Romulus and Remus and the world, and beautifully unique buildings. It is always crowded with pedestrians and thousands of cars, buses and motorbikes that pass through on their way to other places.

Best at night

Piazza Venezia best represents the evolution of styles from the late 19th century to the era of Mussolini. Building monuments like the Altare delle Patria, the Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali, and the various avenues that line the square meant destroying much of what remained of Medieval Rome. This is the square where Mussolini went into trances with his endless speeches and harangues. It’s all very monumental, yes, but perhaps also lacking the historical charm found in other parts of Rome.

It's a very nice place

Excellent

Specially because it makes you think about the roman civilization and things like how did they put those horse statues on the roof.

I think the best time to spend in this place is the night

Excellent

It is absolutely amazing; people don’t even stop playing the guitar on the streets and you can see the Arco Della Patria full of lights and I honestly fall in love with this vision every time I see it.
