Petencito Zoo

This zoo is near Lake Peten Itza, Guatemala, and is one of the island's main attractions. You can closely observe the fauna characteristic of Peten, like Jaguars, monkeys, parrots, raccoons, foxes, etc. In addition, plant lovers will find several of the region's typical species along beautiful guided trails. Petencito features giant slides for a refreshing dip in the waters of Lake Peten Itza! The "Lake of the Guitar" is another attraction of Petencito. It's a beautiful lake located within the zoo and you can see it from a viewpoint. The first stop when visiting the zoo is the "Hidden Paradise Island", where visitors can see squirrels, parrots, turtles and lizards.
