Different and majestic Cathedral
Périgueux Cathedral, named "Cathédrale Saint-Front", is the main point of interest of the city, and it has been named a World Heritage Site from UNESCO as part of the Camino de Santiago. Catholic and constructed in the 17th century Romano-Byzantine style, in white stone on the mound, is lovely especially at night when artificial lighting highlights it by calling the attention of everyone in the zone. For many years, is was seat of the Bishop of Périgueux and Sardat, taking into account the importance of this building. It was dedicated to St. Stephen, patron of the city. It left us speechless, different and majestic, considering that we arrived to Périgueux by chance, and never imaged (without prior information) to find a cathedral like this.
