Penha Cable Car

A cable car is the quickest and easiest way to get on the Penha Mountain (located 7 km from the city). There are signs that direct you toward the base of the cable car. You´ll take the road that is right behind the Church of San Gualter to start the upward climb toward the base. There is ample parking and a small building where you have to buy your ticket (return ticket costs € 4.10.) It takes about 10 minutes to travel the 400 meters to the top of the mountain, a distance of approximately 1.7 km. From the glass cabins you´ll have spectacular views of both the city and the forest. The company "Turipenha" is responsible for managing both the cable car and the Penha campsite.
