Excellent

Pedra longa can be reached via a pleasant 2hr costal walk from Santa Maria Navarrese. However the best way to get there is by kayak. Francesco from Cardedu Kayak offers custom tours depending on your level of experience and the conditions. We spent a day cruising up and around Pedra Longa.

He has personally selected his kayaks to be suitable for sea trips with right blend of maneuverability and stability. Paddling was easy and we tried coasteering. Checking out caves, winding between rock pillars and under arches. Pedra Longa towered above us as we stared down into the turquoise depths and the white pebbles below. Lunch was on our own tiny private beach, by a shady boulder and a tadpole filled fresh water spring.

The Orosei bay is stunning and we hope to come back and explore more of it on a multi day excursion with Francesco.

Rock needle. An easy 6km costal walk from Santa Maria Navarrese takes you to the foot of this rock needle. However the superior way to arrive is by kayak. Cardedu Kayak offers both half and full day tours to Pedra Longa and beyond. Francesco, the guide, has his own specially designed sea kayaks for the trip which are easy to paddle and maneuverable. On the way you try some coasteering, checking out caves, passing under arches and between stacks. Lunch is on your own tiny private beach, next to a fresh water spring with tadpoles. The influx of fresh water and large karst boulders on the sea floor results in an aquamarine sea of impressive clarity. Suitable for beginners and a must do experience.
