Peace of Tordesillas Monument

The most important historical event that took place in this village was the signing of the Treaty of Tordesillas, which is also known as the Paces of Tordesillas. This treaty divided up the kingdoms of Castile and Portugal, therefore splitting the lands of the new continent discovered by Columbus. On the occasion of the 5th Centenary of the signing of the treaty (in the year 1994) this monument was built.
