Pavia is a town situated in Lombardy, in north Italy, about 35 km from Milan, it has a population of 71,000 inhabitants. Pavia is the capital of a fertile province mainly focussed on wine making and rice, cereals and dairy products. The most famous landmark in the city is the Certosa di Pavia, or the Carthusian monastery, which was founded in 1396 and located a just few kilometers from the city.
