Paul Bunyan Statue

The tallest statue of Paul Bunyon in the USA is located in Bangor, Maine and was constructed in 1959 by J. Normand Martin. Paul Bunyon is a local legend of a giant lumberjack ve help cleared the wilderness with his trusty giant ox, Babe. babe is frequently referred to at Babe the Blue Ox as story goes that Paul found her frozen in the winter tundra and saved her life, but that she forever retained her frozen blue coloring.

While probably not worth pulling off the interstate to visit, this statue is a fun roadside attraction to see- especially is you know the legend of Paul Bunyon.

This statue came to life once and started swinging its giant axe at me. Too scary.
