Los muros inferiores de este bonito patio universitario se remontan al s.XV, aunque el patio se formó en el s.XVl al construir los locales para el colegio jesuita, partiendo de ahí la formación de todo el conjunto. El aspecto actual data de los s. XVll-XVlll siendo el edificio dominante el antiguo observatorio astronómico con un anexo de estilo clásico, el cual tiene un friso como adorno con los signos del zodiaco.
