A spectacular mountain pass
Driving along the highway that connects Denver to the famous ski resorts of Vail and Aspen, you can find the Loveland Pass, a spectacular mountain pass which rises a full 3,650 meters above sea level. The road begins with a little lift that lies just off the highway and rises quickly up to the highest point of the pass, where the sign announcing the altitude is a popular photo spot for tourists. It's possible to leave the car and set out on a path that climbs up to the top of the mountain, from which the view extends over the entire valley, where you'll see snow on the ground until early summer.
