The City's Passageway
This is one of the few examples that remain of what used to be the ancient streets in the city of Toledo. This passageway that joins the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with Santo Tomé used to have the name of “The City’s Passageway”, even though in Toledo it is known as “Pasadizo de Belaguer” (Belaguer’s Passageway).
In the beginning, this passage gave way to the Caracena Palace and, even though today it doesn’t, you can still see examples of gothic art, especially in the doors and arches. There are little remains of the era, but it is still magical to pass through here and imagine what the city of Toledo was like in ancient times.
