Parque Opatovina

El Parque Opatovina es sin duda alguna uno de los más bonitos de la ciudad de Zagreb, Croacia. Se encuentra a un costado del distrito de Kaptol, en la parte alta de la ciudad, y anteriormente funcionó como plaza de cañones durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Anteriormente, el sitio estaba dividido en seis jardines distintos que fueron transformados en un único parque público al final de la guerra. Hoy en día, buena parte de la muralla protectora queda aún en pie, además de la Torre de Kaptol, que sobrevivió casi milagrosamente a los bombardeos en la ciudad. Durante algunos fines de semana de verano, el parque se convierte en escenario de conciertos y eventos artísticos al aire libre organizados por el gobierno municipal de Zagreb. De igual manera, en primavera y otoño es uno de los lugares naturales más agradables para pasear en medio de un recorrido turístico por la llamada “Ciudad del Millón de Corazones”. Para llegar al parque basta con caminar a través de una callecita empedrada que sube desde la Puerta de Piedra de la capital croata y termina en el ingreso al parque. El camino no está muy bien señalizado, y quizás es por eso que el sitio aún no es visitado por demasiados turistas.

The Opatovina Park is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of the city of Zagreb, Croatia. It is located next to the Kaptol district, in the upper part of the city, and previously worked as space cannons during World War II. Previously, the site was divided into six distinct gardens were transformed into a single public park at the end of the war. Today, much of the protective wall is still standing, as well as the Tower of Kaptol, almost miraculously survived the bombing in the city. During some summer weekends, the park becomes a venue for concerts and outdoor art organized by the municipal government of Zagreb events. Similarly, in spring and autumn it is one of the nicest natural places to walk in the middle of a tour of the "City of a Million Hearts". To reach the park just walk across a cobbled side street leading up from the Stone Gate of the Croatian capital and ends at the entrance to the park. The road is not very well signposted, and maybe that"s why the site is not visited by too many tourists.
