Fao is a parish of Esposende and has its very own church, constructed between the 17th and 19th centuries. The inside has 3 naves separated by columns and arches. On the altar there are 2 doors, which are the oldest part of the temple is preserved. The rest is the 19th century, as it had to be reconstructed after suffering damage from weather, wind and sand. The facade shows a typical 19th-century taste, sober and austere, with a simple semicircular pediment on the cover. The tower, decorated with pinnacles, is an addition of over 1,893.
